President-elect Donald J. Trump said “all hell will break out in the Middle East” if hostages captured in the Hamas-led attacks were not freed before he takes office.

President-elect Trump repeated his warnings that all hell will break loose in the Middle East if hostages kidnapped from Israel and held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip are not released before his inauguration on Jan.

The deal would secure release of a third of the approximately 100 hostages who remain in Gaza, including two dual U.S.-Israeli nationals. In return, Israel would release some Palestinian prisoners.

Standing next to his envoy to the Middle East, President-elect Donald Trump told reporters he wants hostages released from Gaza before his Jan. 20 inauguration.

"I think that we've had some really great progress, and I'm really hopeful that by the inaugural, we'll have some good things to announce on behalf of the president," Steve Witkoff said.

In a press conference on Tuesday, President-elect Donald Trump said that "there better be" a Gaza hostage deal by the time he takes office on January 20, saying otherwise "all hell will break out."
