There's one identified flying object that has the attention of NORAD's tracking systems: Santa Claus' sleigh, set to take to the skies on Christmas Eve.

The map tracking Santa's trip around the world will begin Dec. 24, Christmas Eve from NORAD, a joint U.S.-Canada command responsible for protecting the skies over both nations. Visitors can track Santa's flight from 4 a.m. to midnight MST / 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. EST.

Santa Trackers are a longstanding tradition that allow people to follow Santa Claus as he makes his once-a-year journey from the North Pole.

Connecticut residents can track Santa Claus on Christmas Eve using NORAD's website or Google. The mythical flight took off at 6 a.m. EST.

As it does every year, NORAD, the North American Aerospace Command, tracked Santa on his trip around the world on Christmas Eve so children and families could see where he was.
